Withered Wasteland Secrets
Team R / Team Rocket underground room
Stand facing the Team R initiation tower—the lighthouse-like structure used by the long-running Team Initiation Challenge. Walk around the left side of its base. Near the far edge, the camera can hide a two-block-high gap and descending stairs. Go down and break the two wall blocks to enter the furnished room.
The objects and music make the reveal explicit: Team R is connected to Team Rocket. The room is an environmental discovery rather than a loot chest; the modern furniture inside cannot simply be taken. Mysterious Slate and mural chamber
Face the Withered Wasteland Pokémon Center and take the arched-brick road on the right. At the wall, break through into the small valley. Turn left, identify the blocks whose color differs from the surrounding wall, and smash through to reach the mechanism room.
The Mysterious Slate pieces must be rotated with Strength, learned later in Rocky Ridges, before they can be mounted correctly. Check the small space under the stairs opposite the mechanism too: the route guide documents gold-colored wall blocks and Pokémetal veins there. The nearby secret tunnel on the community map also marks a later barrier that needs upgraded Cut.

The block pattern to learn

Search the entire S.S. Anne

Caves above, below, and underwater
The map separates several easy-to-miss discoveries rather than pretending they form one named dungeon:
- a Big Storage Box in a small high cave;
- a Slowpoke Rug deep in a flooded cave;
- a Decorative Poké Ball at the end of an underwater cave after learning Dive;
- items hidden beneath mud that Piplup can expose;
- community-reported channels leading into a sewer beneath the town.
Treat the sewer description as a player lead, not an official quest label. The mapped item pins are more reproducible than claims about unique Pokémon spawns.
Rocky Ridges Secrets
Unearth the buried Museum
Rocky Ridges contains what remains of the Pewter Museum, according to the Serebii Rocky Ridges location index. From the Pokémon Center, follow the scattered rail and differently colored ground on the right. Connecting or following the rails leads toward the structure buried beneath volcanic ash. A second approach is visible from the top of the left mine, where odd-colored blocks interrupt the ash.
Clear enough ash to expose the Museum. Inside, Gimmighoul exchanges Rainbow Feathers, Silver Feathers, and appraised Lost Relics for rare items. Fossil pieces placed on the display stands can also satisfy fossil Pokémon habitat conditions. These route details are documented in the 4Gamers survey.
Do not leave after the main gallery
The Rocky Ridges surface map records multiple concealed spaces:
- push a Museum bookshelf with Strength to reach a Team R journal room;
- squeeze through a gap or break the wall for a room containing Photo #5 and the Pewter City CD;
- use an underground ladder to reach the Gym Leader Monthly record and Rock-Solid Outfit.
The Rocky Ridges underground map adds tunnels gated by upgraded Rock Smash or upgraded Cut. The key exploration rule here is simple: follow every rail, clear suspicious ash, and test walls around exhibit rooms.
Sparkling Skylands Secrets
The 300-Pokémon Developer Room
This is the clearest mechanically defined secret in the game. After registering all 300 Pokémon, you receive the recipe for the Neo Dowsing Machine. Professor Tangrowth directs you to take it to Sparkling Skylands.
Go to the northwestern island with a Pokémon that has Search. Follow its signal downward until you uncover a scanner resembling the Area Gates. Scan the completed Pokédex to open the Developer Room. Palette Town Is Early Sandbox Content, Not Postgame
Palette Town is the customizable sandbox area. Once the early Withered Wasteland sequence exposes the route, follow the western coast near Drifloon to the broken bridge. A detailed Palette Town walkthrough says you can bridge the gap with at least 13 planks or terrain blocks—even before later traversal makes the crossing easier.
Waiting until later gives you more recipes and tools, but the access gate is not rolling credits. Under the waterfall that holds the pedestal on the first island, follow the water into a cave filled with ice blocks. That cave is a real, reproducible Palette Town secret.
Bubbly Basin Is Separate Paid DLC
Bubbly Basin is the underwater town released on August 5, 2026 in Expansion Pass Part 1. The official Pokémon announcement explicitly identifies it as paid DLC and introduces Dive alongside the underwater area.
Do not mix its locations into a base-game secret total. The DLC has its own Bubbly Basin map layer, while older Bleak Beach discoveries that become reachable with Dive should be described as later-accessible finds, not evidence for a retroactive universal count.

- If “Forest Grove / Hollow Tree” means a tree-shaped opening, use the map pin or nearby landmark rather than expecting a named area or an Eevee reward room.
- If “Ditto Origin Cave” means the lore-heavy hidden chamber in Withered Wasteland, the reproducible candidates are the Mysterious Slate / mural tunnels and Team R room described above. No checked source calls either one Ditto Origin Cave.
