The useful answer to “Which Pokémon are in Rocky Ridges?” is not a fabricated regional total. Pokémon Pokopia’s residents are usually attracted through habitat recipes, and the same habitat can work in several main areas. Rocky Ridges does have a clear set of Pokémon introduced or required by its story, however, and those are the ones that matter when you are trying to repair the PC, rescue Chef Dente, unlock cooking and smelting, learn Rollout, and complete Time to Party!

This is a story and progression list, not a claim that only these ten Pokémon can live in the area. Other habitat residents can be attracted there when their recipe supports Rocky Ridges.
Scorbunny and Machoke: repair the PC
The first local habitat is Red Tall Grass, created by watering four dry grass tiles near the disconnected Pokémon Center PC. Scorbunny appears and points you toward a stronger helper.
Create a separate 2-by-2 patch of red grass and place two Sandbags beside it to make a Grassy Training Field. Machoke appears, asks you to collect five Stones, and teaches Ditto Strength. That skill lets you push and rotate the PC onto its electrical socket. Machoke also remains important later: its fence-clearing and training-partner requests lead to Graveler.
Dartrix and Torkoal: power Leafage and Cut
Chef Dente is trapped in a barrel hanging from a chain, and ordinary Cut cannot free it. Rocky Ridges solves this through two habitat recruits and food buffs.
For Dartrix, place one pointy tree, four red tall grass tiles, and one large boulder to create Pointy Tree-shaded Rocky Tall Grass. Dartrix’s request leads to a Perch, Lumber, and the Cutting Board. Salad made on that board powers Leafage.
Use the stronger Leafage around the southwest cave’s hot spring to make four moss tiles. Four moss tiles plus the spring form Mossy Hot Spring, which attracts Torkoal. Build a walkable route for Torkoal to the Pokémon Center to receive the Bread Oven recipe. Bread powers Cut, allowing Ditto to break Chef Dente’s chain.
These habitat names and quantities are the real conditions. The verified route uses named arrangements of objects and terrain, not an invented regional tier or quality ladder.
Magmar and Graveler: smelting and Rollout
After Chef Dente introduces the Frying Pan, follow Machoke through the wire-mesh route to the Smelting Furnace. Clear the nearby debris and use the wheelbarrow, tools, and furnace to form Digging and Burning. Magmar appears and can fire the furnace so ore becomes ingots. The first practical target is Copper because two Copper Ingots make the Frying Pan; Hamburger Steak from that cooking route powers Rock Smash.
Continue Machoke’s requests and build Mossy Boulder to recruit Graveler. Graveler teaches Rollout, one of the area’s most valuable unlocks because it moves quickly and clears terrain far faster than ordinary Rock Smash. Serebii’s Graveler record lists Mossy Boulder as its ideal habitat, while the Rocky Ridges walkthrough gives the route context.
DJ Rotom and Ludicolo: raise party mood
At Environment Level 3, powered Rock Smash opens the cave containing a radio. Inspecting it introduces DJ Rotom, who starts Time to Party with Chef Dente.
Rotom asks for music and better vibes. Add CDs, then create Uplifting Duckweed with four Duckweed tiles in water. This attracts Ludicolo. Bring Ludicolo to the party for its Hype contribution. An appraised Large Lost Relic, five filled Party Platters, decorations, and other Hype Pokémon complete the route to 100 mood.
DJ Rotom and Chef Dente are named story characters. Treating them as ordinary random regional spawns loses the distinction between a story appearance and a habitat resident.
Volcanion is the real Rocky Ridges mythical
When party mood reaches 100, load the Party Cooking Pot with 15 Leppa Berries, 15 Wheat, 15 Beans, and 5 Honey, then bring Chef Dente and four other helpers. After the curry is ready, Volcanion appears on the mountain and sets off fireworks after you speak with it.
That first encounter completes the Important Request; it is not yet the same as recruiting Volcanion as a resident. A second party at 100 mood and Volcanion’s follow-up sequence handle the later resident state. Our legendary and mythical guide keeps those two states separate.
Heatran is not the Rocky Ridges legendary. On the August 25 roster review, Heatran was absent from the main Pokédex, Event Pokédex, and Basin Pokédex. No current source lists a location, habitat, weather window, smelting setup, or special-food route for it. The Heatran status guide records that absence instead of inventing an acquisition method.
Why other Pokémon can appear here
Pokopia’s Habitat Dex defines an arrangement of plants, blocks, furniture, or terrain and lists where that habitat can work. Many entries support Withered Wastelands, Bleak Beach, Rocky Ridges, Sparkling Skylands, Palette Town, and sometimes other areas. That is why a Pokémon seen in Rocky Ridges is not automatically a Rocky Ridges exclusive.
Rocky Ridges still gives you useful local ingredients for habitats: Red Tall Grass, Mountain Flowers, Pointy Trees, Mossy Boulders, hot springs, cave blocks, ore deposits, Wheat, Beans, and several berry trees. Use those resources to build the exact ideal habitat shown in the Pokédex rather than relying on type-only claims such as “all Fire types spawn at volcanic vents.”
Best recruitment order for progression
- Scorbunny — opens the first route from the PC.
- Machoke — Strength fixes the PC and later leads to Graveler.
- Dartrix — Cutting Board and Salad power Leafage.
- Torkoal — Bread Oven and Bread power Cut.
- Magmar — smelting produces the ingots used by the cooking and rebuild chains.
- Graveler — Rollout makes terrain clearing dramatically faster.
- Ludicolo — directly contributes to Time to Party’s mood requirement.
After those seven, recruit for comfort, specialties, and the Pokémon Center helper requirement. The Center rebuild needs eight helpers and specifically calls for Graveler, Machoke, and a bulldozer, so do not postpone those progression Pokémon.

No current source publishes one. The reliable list is the story cast above plus any habitat resident whose documented recipe supports the area.
Is Volcanion a story encounter or a resident?
It is both at different moments. The first party causes the story encounter; a later second-party sequence handles the resident state.
Which recruit saves the most time?
Graveler is the largest traversal upgrade because Rollout clears long terrain runs quickly. Machoke, Dartrix, Torkoal, and Magmar must still come first to open that route.
